Thai Gamblers

Lumpini Stadium in Bangkok is one of Thailand’s biggest Thai boxing venues. The action in the ring may be frenetic, but it pales in comparison what happens in the cheap seats, where the gamblers and bookies work. Players and hopeful losers bet small fortunes on the fights, negotiating for the best odds even as the fists and feet start to fly. Like the boxers, the gambler’s hopes can be dashed or fulfilled by a single punch or kick. But while the boxers only stand to loose a fight and perhaps their pride, the gamblers look like they could loose everything.
